"Elya Finn is the most inspiring, motivating, encouraging and supportive teacher I've ever had. She has such an enourmous amount of energy and passion for teaching that it makes learning music exciting and enjoyable for me. She's able to help me connect with every piece I play and bring out it's beauty by telling me the story behind each composer and discussing our impression of each piece. Her knowledge of music is extremely broad and she's very flexible in her teaching methods; from exercises to theory to classical music to contemporary music to improvistion to composition and vocal technique. She's able to help me get to where I want to be. She helps me identify my weaknesses and is able to assign exercises to target and strengthen those areas. I'm really grateful to have Elya Finn as my music teacher. She is really amazing and incredibly talented!" (Dune Nguyen)

"Elya Finn is incredibly knowledgeable in the musical field and has shared her experience with me and other students in a logical, encouraging, and exciting manner. She truly understands her craft and has promoted me to achieve the highlest level of musical excellence and insight over the past nine years. Elya not only understands the theory of music but also taps into its emotional and dramatic nuances to help me better comprehend music in its entirety. I feel like she has taught me to relate to the music I play rather than just learning the notes, the bare bones of the music. A talented musician in her own right, a sincere admirer of the musical arts, and a patient, experienced educator, Elya Finn is a multi-talented artist difficult to come across nowadays." (Livia)

"Elya Finn's passion for teaching and her all-around enthusiasm for life are what make her such a gifted teacher. With her adult students, Elya indeed proves you can teach an old dog new tricks. Before meeting her, I was a one-trick pony -- limited to just playing the Romantic composers. While Bach had been a lifelong favorite to listen to, I didn't dare roam outside my comfort zone to play. Images of Bach spinning in his grave would literally go through my head... Still, Elya persevered. She at once motivated and inspired with her breathtaking Bach. Her technique and musicianship are stunning. Her Bach challenged me and set a high, high bar to which I continue to aspire. We eventually tackled our first piece, and while the journey has been long, it's all the more fulfilling to play pieces I thought I'd be limited to just listening to my whole life. Given the demands of work and life in general, I find my weekly lessons to be a little oasis away from it all. I highly recommend Elya and look forward to many years of lessons to come."(Mike Lee)

"Elya Finn is a great teacher! I always wanted to learn to play piano and now with her help I can play classical pieces! She is very patient when you make mistakes. The way Elya explains the subject is very easy to understand and to have fun with it. The lessons are always very enjoyable! " (Anastasiya Bauswell)

" As a beginning adult piano student, I was looking for a piano teacher with whom I could feel comfortable yet know that I was being taught correctly and that he or she cared if I learned. I found that person in Elya Finn. I had been taking lessons with a piano teacher who was also excellent, but I much too often left her class feeling anxious and close to tears. What a pleasure it is to actually enjoy class!" (Mary)
